Hot School Lunches

Chartwells currently provide hot school lunches at Parkfield School.  All food orders are processed online through the Chartwells online system https://dorset.mealselector.co.uk/
Orders can be placed at any time up until the cut off time of midnight on a Sunday - 7 days before the full week in which the meal is to be served. A sample menu is available in a link at the bottom of this page.

Please see the attached booklet giving you a step-by-step guide to the registering and ordering process. The School Office will no longer be distributing paper order forms.
Please note that all hot lunches for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 students are free of charge under the Government’s Universal Free School Meal initiative but require ordering through the online system as normal please.

Parkfield School has signed up to the New Schools Food Standards (January 2015).
You can get more information about the New Schools Food Standards here

Free School Meals and Pupil Premium
Did you know … just registering your child for Free School Meals means that the school gets extra money to specifically support your child?
Register now to make sure we don’t miss out
The Government is still giving extra funding to schools to provide additional support for children from lower income families enabling them to do their very best. This funding is called a ‘Pupil Premium’.  For every primary student registered, Parkfield School will get £1,300 this year and £935 for secondary students.  Please register for Pupil Premium if you are entitled, as the school will then receive the Pupil Premium funding to support your child’s learning. If you are registered for Pupil Premium you could also get help with other aspects of school life, such as entitlement to Free School Meals, the cost of school trips and purchasing uniform.
Your child may be able to get Pupil Premium if you get any of the following:
  • Income Support
  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)*
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)*
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • the guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit
*Please Note:  If you receive any Income Based JSA or any Income related ESA, you qualify for Pupil Premium and Free School Meals
(Children who get any of the above benefits in their own right (i.e. they get benefits payments directly, instead of through a parent or guardian) can also get free school meals.)
Please do not confuse Universal infant free school meals for Reception and Key Stage 1 students with the entitlement to Pupil Premium.
If you have any questions then please speak to the Business Manager in confidence.

If you have any queries with regards to the online process, please do not hesitate to contact the Finance Office on finance@parkfield.bournemouth.sch.uk or contact Chartwells directly through their website.
