Year 7 Literacy and Numeracy Catch-up Premium

The Literacy and Numeracy catch-up premium gives schools additional funding to support Year 7 pupils who did not achieve at least Level 4 in reading and/or maths at the end of Key Stage 2 (KS2). The funding for 2013/14 was £500 per eligible student.

Examples of how the funding can be used are:

  • individual tuition
  • intensive small-group tuition
  • external services and materials, such as computer-based learning resources
  • summer schools that help students catch up over a short period of time
